The domestic rates for the Renewable Heat Incentive have been released. This scheme is designed to encourage the uptake of Renewable Heat technologies in Homes across the UK.
The domestic rates for the Renewable Heat Incentive have been released. This scheme is designed to encourage the uptake of Renewable Heat technologies in Homes across the UK. Anyone who has installed an eligable Renewable Technology sine July 15th 2009 and meets the criteria will be able to join the scheme.
Eligible Technology and Tariff rates:-
Air Source Heat Pumps- 12.2p/kWh
Biomass Boilers-18.8p/kWh
Ground Source Heat Pumps- 18.8p/kWh
Solar Thermal- 19.2p/kWh
Payments will be paid on a qurterly basis for seven years. The tariffs have been set at a lvel that relects the expected cost of generation over 20 years.
Requirements are for new applicants to complete a green deal assesment before application. As always your installer and technology muts be MCS accredidted.
Massive savings can be achived with this scheme it is designed and has been set at a level to compensate for the difference between the cost of installing and opperating Renewables vs Fossil. The payments are made over 7 years on the basis of 20 years of generation.
